Adult Dance Classes

Wednesdays 5:45-6:45

At L’Ecole, we believe dance should be challenging without being intimidating, structured without being rigid, and joyful without sacrificing quality technique. Our adult classes are taught in the same non-competitive, supportive spirit that guides our entire studio: strong foundations, healthy movement habits, artistry and musicality, and an understanding that mistakes are a natural part of learning. Whether you’re stepping into a studio for the first time or returning to dance after years away, our goal is to help you feel capable, included, and proud of your progress while developing a genuine love of movement. Not to mention, you may just find your new favorite little community along the way!

We offer adult classes in 6/7 week sessions throughout the year. This year, we are offering basic adult ballet and tap.

$150 per session | Sign up for each session as we go, all at once, or a few at a time!

Basic Adult Ballet

Wed. 5:45-6:45
Sessions 1, 3, and 5

  • SESSION 1: 9/9-10/21 (7 weeks)
  • SESSION 3: 1/6-2/10 (6 weeks)
  • SESSION 5: 4/7 -5/19 (6 weeks)
A welcoming, beginner-friendly introduction to ballet for adults with little or no previous experience. This could also be appropriate for adults who are looking to get back into ballet after many (many, many…) years off.

Classes focus on:

  • foundational technique

  • healthy alignment

  • strength, musicality, and artistry

This takes place in the supportive, non-competitive environment L’Ecole is known for. Mistakes are treated as part of the learning process, so dancers can build confidence, ask questions, and progress at their own pace.

Dress Code: Fitted athletic-wear so bodily alignment is visible. Hair up and off the neck. For footwear, ballet slippers are best, but grippy socks are fine.

Basic Adult Tap

Wed. 5:45-6:45
Sessions 2 and 4

  • SESSION 2: 10/28-12/16 (7 weeks)
  • SESSION 4: 2/24-3/31 (6 weeks)
A fun, approachable introduction to the foundations of tap dance for adults with little or no previous experience.

Dancers will learn:
-basic steps
-rhythm, musicality, and coordination

You can expect an inclusive, low-pressure environment that prioritizes quality instruction, personal growth, and the joy of learning something new rather than comparison or competition.

Dress Code: Fitted athletic-wear so bodily alignment is visible. Hair up and off the neck. For footwear, please come with tap shoes. If you are purchasing new ones, any standard black tap shoes are fine. If you are coming with your own, we will work with what you’ve got (yes, even theatrical heeled!)
