Costume fees

For the 2023-2024 end of year performance we will again help lower the cost of dancing by keeping costume prices as low as possible. The deposit is our closest estimate of the final costume price.

Luckily, we have a talented and dedicated group of teachers and volunteers!  We have plenty of experience with costume construction. We try as much as possible to make the costumes or purchase mostly dance basics and embellish them ourselves. Our current policy is to provide costumes to you at cost with no markup.

  • Pre ballet: $50/costume deposit.

  • Beginning ballet, tap I/II, jazz I: $55/costume

  • Int. ballet & jazz II: $60/costume

  • Adv. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, & Contemporary: $70/costume

This non-refundable costume deposit will be due January 1st, since deliveries from costume companies can take as long as 16 weeks, especially with supply chain issues! We attempt to keep costume charges at this level.  If an additional amount is necessary, it is usually no more than $5. Any additional charges will be due May 1st.  Costumes are ordered and made specifically for each individual dancer; students who withdraw after costumes are ordered will not receive a refund.

Additional costs

Registration fee, due by September 1st: $55 per family, per year.

  • You only need to register one time per year.  There is no registration fee for summer programs; we simply count it as a continuation of classes. If you register and pay your first payment in full on or before July 1st, we will waive your family’s registration fee.

Commitment fee, due January 1st. : $50 per family, per year

  • By purchasing a costume, and enrolling in the Spring Term of classes, you indicate your intention to have your child participate in the recital.  Each year the teachers devote approximately 12 hours per class to choreographing a dance.  We depend upon a certain number and level of students in each class.  The dancers themselves spend months on rehearsal.  It is extremely upsetting and inconvenient to both the teachers and students when a child is pulled out of the recital process after it has already begun.  The commitment fee reminds parents to make sure they will be in town for the rehearsal weeks and the performances.

At this time, we accept Cash, Check (made out to L’Ecole de Ballet) and PayPal payments. You will receive an invoice via email at least 2 weeks before its due date. Please indicate on your registration form who is financially responsible for payments.  Payments are due by the 1st of each month.  Payments that are overdue are subject to a 5% late fee.  We are always willing to discuss payment concerns or issues.  However, please contact us before the due date so that you will not incur any late fees.
