LDB puts on a full-length production every Spring. Because of this, the majority of class time after Winter break is spent on choreography. Students are strongly urged to participate in technique classes wherein the focus is only on classical ballet pedagogy influenced by traditional methodologies of ballet (ex: Cecchetti, Vaganova, RAD, Balanchine).

  • Foundational Ballet

For students middle through high school

This class has been designed to fill in the “gaps” that adolescents/young adults may have missed during the Covid shutdowns. Training would have allowed their bodies to create essential muscle memory during a very critical time in their development. As adolescents develop, their limbs change, core muscles shift, and it's important to hone in on foundational technique with consistency. Unfortunately, it was hard to do that effectively via Zoom.

This class will be focused on intensive and explicit training with the goal of enhancing ballet technique that may have taken a hit during this critical time. This class is also recommended for newcomers to the world of ballet.

    Thursdays 5:45-6:45

    Instructor: Clarissa
