She participated in the Royal Academy of Dance program, and later continued her training at the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts. She has studied also in London, Paris, and at the Joffrey School of Ballet. A Company member of the Dance Prism for the past thirty years, Clarissa also serves as assistant to its directors. She is a rehearsal coach for the Dance Prism's annual productions of "The Nutcracker" and spring & fall performances. In addition to her teaching background in classical ballet, Clarissa was a preschool teacher for 17 years , and is qualified as an Early Childhood teacher. She has extensive training in a variety of dance techniques, including ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary. In addition, Zoe has sought out many other styles, such as hip hop, and has received instruction under well known creatives at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Zoe also spent three summers being classically trained at Gelsey Kirkland Academy, where she had the opportunity to work with some of ballet’s most prominent artists. She coordinates a touring company that for its larger productions includes 150 dancers, 25staff and crew members, and nearly 50 volunteers. She has also taught, choreographed, and given master classes for a variety of New England ballet school and college programs, has been an adjudicator for Boston Ballet’s City Dance program, and has served on the boards of various dance and production organizations. Concurrently with her work with Dance Prism and other performing arts entities, she was for over 25 years a member of Simmons College’s English Department, teaching classes in late 19th and 20th century American and European literature, analytical writing, and interdisciplinary comparative arts. She strives to empower her performers with knowledge of injury care and prevention to care of their bodies during their college career and beyond. In addition to Dean College, Amanda works with the physical therapy team providing care for the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program and has worked with the athletic training team for the Boston location of Blue Man Group. Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Northeastern University and her Master of Science in Kinesiology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an athletic training student, she interned with the athletic training staff for the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. Amanda currently serves as the Performing Arts Committee Chair for the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) Council of Practice Advancement, is an active member of the Performing Arts Athletic Trainer’s Society (PAATS), and the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS). She has presented at various conferences such as the NATA Annual Symposium and IADMS both within the US and internationally. Throughout her dance career, she has had the pleasure of performing with a variety of artists from around the world, and is a former Phunk Phenomenon and Boston Celtics Dancer. Presently, she enjoys performing with Dance Prism of Concord, MA alongside her children. Dancing, singing, and acting have always been a huge part of her life, and she loves any opportunity to get on stage.
